Even though teachers play a crucial role in our society, they often get paid the least.

People who dedicate their lives to teaching, guiding, and mentoring the next generation are truly special.

Some teachers go above and beyond to help their students. Take Jonathan Oliver, a P.E. teacher at WG Nunn Elementary School in Valdosta, Georgia. He recently gained attention for a selfless act during a kindergarten basketball game.

While coaching, Oliver noticed a student, Kristen Paulk, needing help tying her hair back. Without hesitation, he stepped in to assist her.

The heartwarming moment was caught on camera by another teacher, Kandice Anderson, and posted on YouTube. The video went viral with the title “When your job goes beyond teaching!”

Good Morning America even reached out to Oliver, a 34-year-old father of three. He expressed surprise at the attention, saying that teachers often go the extra mile to make students feel at home and loved.

Oliver explained that Kristen had asked for help with a ponytail for the game. He usually helps his own daughter with hair styling, but if it had been anything more complicated, he humorously said, “You better ask your mom.”

Kristen’s mother, Miyah Cleckley, was deeply touched by the video. She mentioned that she always feels her daughter is in good hands with Mr. Oliver, especially since he often helps with hair duties for his own five daughters.

This heartwarming story is just one example of the many extraordinary efforts educators make for their students. They are true heroes. Share this amazing story with your family and friends!
