The father accused of forcing his son to run on a treadmill before his tragic death walked out of the ER as medics struggled to save the five-year-old’s life.

As previously reported, Christopher Gregor, 31, has been accused of murdering his son Corey Micciolo, who investigators say suffered an acute traumatic injury to the heart just hours before his passing.

He is also charged with endangering the welfare of a child, which comes after March 2021 footage where Gregor appeared to force the child to use a treadmill, despite the young boy falling off at least six times.

Weeks after the harrowing video was recorded, Corey’s mother, Breanna Micciolo, allegedly began to be “concerned” after seeing bruises on his body.

The six-year-old was later rushed to the hospital by his dad, before he was intubated, coded twice, and tragically died, with his autopsy ruling the cause to be blunt force trauma.

Gregor was initially arrested on July 7, 2021, on child neglect charges following investigators reviewing the video. He was arrested once again in March 2022, this time in connection with his son’s death, per Court TV.

The state charged him with murder after a consulting doctor determined the “pattern, distribution, and character of the injuries was consistent with ongoing abuse, and found that the manner of death was homicide,” per Too Fab.

Gregor is now on trial for the murder of his son at Superior Court in Ocean City.

On Tuesday (May 7), the court heard from emergency room nurse Lindsay Carnevale, who was treating Corey after the boy was rushed to the hospital by his father.

According to Asbury Park Press, Carnevale disclosed during her testimony that the father walked in and out of his son’s room as medics attended to him.

She said that the little boy was brought in with bruises on his chest, chin, and temple, and claimed that Gregor told her that the injuries were from playing football and riding his bike.

In addition to this, the nurse alleged that the man did not want the staff to contact Corey’s mother, saying she was a drug addict.
