Prince William has a new title that will make people look twice.
Last week, King Charles III said that his oldest son, Prince William, would become Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps. However, Prince Harry was the one who served with the unit in Afghanistan.
One news source says that Harry would have taken over the job that his father had been in for 31 years if he hadn’t quit his royal duties.
Even though both William and Harry are trained to fly military planes, Harry was in the Army Air Corps during his second tour in Afghanistan.
During his time in the service, William did not fight, but he did work as a search and rescue pilot and later as an air ambulance pilot.
“His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales will take over as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps from His Majesty the King.” After His Majesty became king in August 2023, the King was happy to make military decisions. For example, the Prince of Wales would become Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps. Kensington Palace said in a statement that the job had been held by His Majesty the King for 31 years as Prince of Wales.
At the same time that the news came out, Harry arrived in the UK to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.
After a lot of talk, a duke’s spokesperson stated that Harry would not be meeting with his father because the king has a “full programme.”
“Of course, the duke understands that his father has a lot of commitments and other things that are more important than seeing him, and he hopes to see him soon.”
The last time they saw each other was in February, when Harry rushed to the UK to be with his father for 45 minutes after hearing that King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer.
