Barbara Rush, a Golden Globe-winning actress, passed away at the age of 97.
The woman who starred in It Came From Outer Space and Peyton Place most notably passed away.
Her daughter Claudia Cowan attested to her mother’s calm demise.
My amazing mother passed away peacefully this evening at 5:28. “I was with her this morning and know she was waiting for me to get home safely to transition,” the woman was reported by Fox News as saying.
Easter was one of her favorite holidays, so it’s appropriate that she decided to depart on that day. Easter will now, of course, mean even more to my family and me.
Mom daughter paid homage to mom on Instagram a few months before to her passing.
Cowan wrote in January that “she glows like the moon and shines like the sun.”
“The kindness in her heart, the wisdom in her soul, and the sparkle in her eyes don’t change with age.”
She appears to be 97 years old to me.
Rush collaborated with a number of well-known actors and actresses over her lengthy and prosperous career, including Dean Martin and Marlon Brando.
The renowned actress’s 1950s melodramas are what made her most famous.
Although she started out as an actress on stage, her big break came in the 1953 science fiction horror film It Came From Outer Space.
For this role, she was awarded a coveted Golden Globe for most promising female newcomer.
She later collaborated with Frank Sinatra on the motion pictures Come Blow Your Horn (1963) and Robin and the Seven Hoods (1964).
Although Rush was also a big TV star, Peyton Place is where most people knew her from.
She portrayed Marsha Russell on the well-liked soap drama for several seasons.

Rush contributed to many soap operas. She appeared in Flamingo Road on NBC as Eudora Weldon.
Rush was divorced following three marriages and divorces.
In 1950, she first wed actor Jeffrey Hunter. In 1959, she later wed Warren Cowan. She eventually wed artist Jim Gruzalski in 1970.
Rush had spent her final years hidden from the spotlight in Hollywood.
Claudia, her daughter, shared a photo of her mother on Instagram that February.
“Time with my mom is extra special these days,” Cowan said in a recent post.
I’m going to try to visit her as often as possible before her time runs out to let her know how much I value and adore her.
“And, I know deep down that neither of us needs to worry.”
