A tense moment turned miraculous: When a child fell into a gorilla enclosure, a huge male gorilla approached him before rescuers could. Witness the incredible scene that left eyewitnesses speechless.
As strange as it may sound, I can think of many cases where people should take an example from animals in their humane actions and deeds.
We keep wild animals locked up in zoos for our own amusement, with the assumption that if we encounter a wolf, bear, lion or other wild animal in its habitat, it will attack us. In fact, many animals would be happy to live as far away from people as possible… and some of them would even be able to intervene if we needed help.
This story is about an 11-year-old boy who fell into a gorilla enclosure while visiting a zoo. When a huge male approached him, everyone was afraid for the child’s life.
However, the gorilla’s reaction to what was happening plunged eyewitnesses into real shock.
The incident occurred at a zoo in England. An 11-year-old boy was looking at its inhabitants when he suddenly fell into the gorilla’s den.
The child did not move and was unconscious. He showed no signs of life. The rescue team was rushing to help the child when a huge, dominant male gorilla approached him in front of horrified onlookers who could only watch helplessly from above.
While people expected the worst, the gorilla approached the child, looked at him with curiosity, and then gently ran her hand along the boy’s back, as if calming him down.
Soon after this, the child woke up and began to cry. The gorilla left, taking other individuals with it.
Rescuers entered the enclosure and took the boy out of it. Fortunately, he suffered only minor injuries.
The incredible incident is featured in the documentary The Urban Gorilla, which follows the lives of animals in zoos around the world.
This gorilla taught people a great lesson about how to treat other creatures with respect, while we limit ourselves to depriving them of their freedom for our own pleasure.
Nowadays, most often animals act more humanely than humans; if this continues, then it is unknown what our civilization will turn into.
This video gives me goosebumps. The animals are truly incredible! We have a lot to learn from those we call “animals”
