Over the weekend, a bulldozer fell on a pickup truck in Utah, killing a father and his daughter.

The Utah Highway Patrol reported that Richard David Hendrickson, the CEO of Lifetime Products, and his 16-year-old daughter Sally died in the accident in Ogden Canyon.

The crash happened at 12:49 p.m. on Saturday when a tow truck carrying a small bulldozer took a sharp right turn. The bulldozer came loose and slid into Hendrickson’s GMC pickup truck.

Hendrickson and Sally were pronounced dead at the scene. Two other adult passengers in the truck suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Lifetime Products honored Hendrickson in a statement, saying he was “more than a company leader.”

“Richard was more than a company leader – he was also a visionary and a friend to many within our business and the wider community,” the statement said. “He is known for having a wide range of skills and interests.”

“His mechanical skills are legendary, often surprising the engineers in the company. He also excelled in finance, management, and sales,” the statement continued. “But above all, he cared about people, both within Lifetime and among its vendors and suppliers. He had a special ability to connect with others, no matter their position. This made all his other talents even more remarkable.”

Richard led a successful company and was also the stake president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In his condolence message to the Hendrickson family on X, Utah Governor Spencer Cox said, “Richard was a friend and incredible leader.”
