The news about Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck has been everywhere for months. People have been guessing about their breakup without any clear information from the couple.
Now, someone close to them wants to set the record straight.
There are lots of rumors that Ben and Jennifer have separated and that their marriage is over, but the couple hasn’t made any official announcement yet.
A source told the media that they haven’t said anything because they are “waiting to announce their split officially. They want to make sure everything goes smoothly, especially for everyone involved. They don’t want to rush this process. They are handling the separation with as much care and understanding as possible.”

To the media and public, their breakup seems almost certain. The couple hasn’t been seen together in months. They even spent recent holidays apart, with Lopez vacationing in Europe without Affleck. She also celebrated her 55th birthday, and Affleck was noticeably absent.
The couple has five children between them. Affleck has three children with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, and Lopez has twins with her ex-husband Marc Anthony.
The source mentioned that the kids are a big part of the decision. They said, “They want to make sure the kids are comfortable with the transition and where they are living. They don’t want it to feel sudden or upsetting for the children. They’re both working hard to make this change as smooth and healthy as possible.”
Another source shared that since getting his own place, Affleck has been feeling “hopeful.” His new home is closer to his ex, Jennifer Garner, making it easier to co-parent.
“Ben really likes his new home and feels hopeful about the change,” the source shared. “It’s been a hard time for him, but he’s focusing on his wellbeing and his family.”
Another source agreed, saying, “Ben wanted to be closer to his kids with his new home and wanted a fresh, personal space where he can focus on work and be his most creative without distractions.”
As for Lopez, a source close to her noted that she is “ready to move on and wants to end things on good terms.”
“The timing of the transition made her birthday a bit harder, but with support from her friends and family, she’s taking it day by day,” the source added.
This isn’t the first time Lopez and Affleck were together. They originally dated from 2002 to 2004 and called off their first engagement in January 2004. They got back together in 2021 and got married in Las Vegas in July 2022.
