For familial reasons, Prince William and Prince Harry attended the same event. Reunion follows almost a year of estrangement and strained relationship.

According to reports, the Duke of Sussex and Prince of Wales visited a deceased family member in the UK on August 29. Most netizens are delighted the siblings reconnected, but some think Prince William should be wary of trusting his younger brother again.

Prince Harry secretly returned to the UK to attend his mother’s brother-in-law’s funeral, according to a news site. Prince William, his older brother, attended the memorial service discreetly.

Two princes came there to say goodbye to their uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, who died at 82 in July. A local source said they did not spot the brothers talking.

Prince William and Prince Harry sat apart in the back of St. Mary’s Church in Snettisham, Norfolk.

While a close family friend said both princes were there, another said they didn’t see Harry or William until the end of the event.

Nobody told me they were there. Their arrival was inconspicuous, said the insider. The public filled social media with comments on the princes being in the same room.

Given that the brothers were last seen together at their father’s coronation over a year ago, some were thrilled. “So happy for them 🙏🏼🙏🏼,” an admirer exclaimed.“Good for you Harry,” a fan said.

Another said, “If that is true, [I’m] so glad [and] happy for the brothers blood is thicker than [water] [bless] them both.”

Another said, “I hope this funeral helps them realize how important family is and how quickly reuniting can become a regret of what could have been… 😢😔.”

Bringing in Princess Catherine and Diana, a Facebooker said, “It’s time William and Kate just tried a little harder to be nicer to Harry. Diana would want them to stay close forever because they were always close. X.”

Social media users commented, “Private plane then,” and “How come he was allowed to go????”

Despite accolades and calls for the brothers to apologize, some netizens doubt Prince Harry. Someone on Facebook advised, “Watch your back [Prince] William,” while another said, “William is smarter than that. Harry is untrustworthy.”

Prince William and Prince Harry haven’t gotten along for a while. Drama, tension, and past and present scars have plagued their relationship, according to several sites.

Prince Harry has issues with his brother and other royal family members, especially his father, which adds to the pain.

A media site reported in July that King Charles III does not answer calls or letters from his estranged youngest son.

Prince Harry’s attempts to reconcile with Prince William also fail. Prince Harry reportedly sat two seats behind his brother and family for King Charles III’s coronation, but the siblings last united in September 2022.

After Queen Elizabeth II died, they met mourners outside Windsor Castle with their wives.

The brothers’ estrangement began in 2016, when Prince William expressed concerns about his younger brother’s friendship with Meghan Markle’s speed.

With the publishing of his tell-all biography, “Spare,” Prince Harry made bombshell familial revelations, including calling his older brother his “arch nemesis.” Prince Harry also described their verbal and physical fights.

By 2020, tensions were at an all-time high when Prince Harry and Meghan left their royal responsibilities to live in the US.

Later, after Queen Elizabeth II died, Prince Harry was notified that his family would lose security. The late queen advised Prince Harry and Meghan to have security, but this decision was made.

In February 2024, royal family drama continued. Prince Harry came in London from the US to visit his ailing father after King Charles III’s cancer diagnosis, but the King wanted to rest in Norfolk.

Before flying home to Los Angeles, Prince Harry was alleged to have slept at a hotel in London instead of with his family.

He did not see his father or brother when the Duke of Sussex came to the UK in May for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. An insider said the brothers’ rift is sad but not “irreparable.”

Since they were kind enough to be in the same room again, Prince William and Prince Harry may reach a compromise.

Their reconnection during their late uncle’s burial follows Prince Harry’s first absence after Lord Robert Fellowes’ death.

Lord Fellowes was Queen Elizabeth II’s confidential secretary and close to the Spencer family. His death saddened Prince Harry and his family.

Lord Fellowes was born 1941 at Sandringham. He had a distinguished career as the Queen’s confidant. In 1978, he married Lady Jane Spencer, Princess Diana’s older sister, furthering his royal family ties.

His death made many consider his significance in British ruling class history. Prince Harry had a difficult time attending his uncle Lord Fellowes’ burial.

Since leaving royal duties in 2020 and moving to the US, Prince Harry and Meghan have lost UK taxpayer-funded security. So they must pay for police protection themselves.

British law compels Prince Harry to notify officials of any UK travel intentions at least 28 days in advance, compounding the dilemma. Due to this rule, Prince Harry missed the date to attend Lord Fellowes’ burial.

Prince Harry kept in touch with his family during this difficult time. He contacted his aunt, Lady Jane, cousins, and his late mother’s brother, Charles Spencer, to show his support.

Prince Harry wants to spend more time in the UK, but security constraints make it difficult for his team.

In February, the Duke of Sussex lost his lawsuit to reinstate automatic security for his family. After Prince Harry and Meghan left royal duties in early 2020, UK authorities revoked their protection.

Prince Harry’s security struggle is personal. He said in December that security fears for his family—Meghan, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet—led him to leave the UK.

He vehemently argued in court that his children could not feel “at home” in the UK because they were unsafe.

Prince Harry’s father-son connection has been strained by security concerns. When Prince Harry came to the UK in May to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, his father was absent.

King Charles III’s busy schedule was officially blamed for their missing encounter. Prince Harry’s eagerness to share his security worries, which he believes King Charles III may affect, may have caused the alienation, according to sources.

After three months, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s chief of staff left, complicating an already difficult situation.

This quick departure triggered internet arguments and reactions, revealing the couple’s continued challenges in their new existence. User asked, “Why do they need a Chief of Staff?” They’re private citizens as desired, right? Another commented, “I’m surprised he lasted that long.”

The response was mixed, with some calling it “super embarrassing” and others saying it reveals deeper concerns.

Critics remained loud. One said, “I can’t imagine that anyone with any sense would have taken the job in the first place!” Another said, “Doesn’t that tell you something.”

Those who questioned the role’s necessity after Prince Harry and Meghan left the royals were also disappointed. Someone asked, “Why do they even have a ‘chief of staff’?” They are no longer Royal.”

After moving to California in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan have only visited the UK once with their children. They visited for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022. Their daughter Lilibet’s first birthday was celebrated in Frogmore Cottage, their previous Windsor residence.
