Jennifer Lopez, who is currently divorcing Ben Affleck, was seen in an ‘deep and intimate’ chat with his best friend Matt Damon at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on 6 September.

J.Lo filed for divorce from the Daredevil star on 20 August this year – two years to the day of their lavish ceremony in Georgia.

The duo, who were first engaged in the early noughties before calling it quits – and the pair ended up reconciling two decades later.

They were married in a Las Vegas wedding in 2022, before their Georgia ceremony later that year.

The Hustlers star wrote on her newsletter at the time: “We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient.”

Unfortunately, the split comes after months of breakup rumours.

J.Lo cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the forthcoming divorce, which ‘simply means that people don’t get along anymore’, according to Slater + Gordon.

Her filing also reportedly requested that she is able to drop ‘Affleck’ from her name, opting instead to use her maiden name ‘Jennifer Lynn Lopez’.

Recently, the singer starred in the film Unstoppable which was produced by Damon and Affleck’s company, Artists Equity.

The film is a biopic about wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg and in 2011, won a NCAA national championship.

Jennifer stars as the wrestler’s mother Judy Robles in the movie, which landed well with audiences and earned a standing ovation from the TIFF crowd.

The film premiered at TIFF on Friday (6 September), with J.Lo and Matt in attendance while Ben was a no-show, as per PEOPLE.

As per Page Six, photos show the pair talking at the afterparty, which was held at EPOCH Bar & Kitchen Terrace at The Ritz-Carlton.

A source told PEOPLE: “Jen and Matt began talking and had a long, deep conversation,” further claiming that Matt and Jennifer laughed and ‘spoke more seriously’ while holding hands for ‘several minutes’.

Speaking about her role in Unstoppable, J.Lo said in a Q&A: “I think it was my job really to help her feel safe.

“Both of them, Anthony and Judy, to feel safe and kind of put this in our hands and trust us with all the information that they could give us and know that we wouldn’t misuse it in any way, but only use it to tell their story in the best and most beautiful way that it deserved.

“Because it is one of the most beautiful, most inspiring stories I think I’ve ever seen on screen.”

Jennifer Lopez has shared a series of images online following her split from ex, Ben Affleck.

On Wednesday (21 August), it was confirmed that J.Lo, 55, had filed for divorce from Affleck following months of speculation over their marriage.

Naturally, fans were left gutted over their separation, with many of the couple’s followers overjoyed when they reunited after originally dating back in the early noughties.

As per court documents obtained by the BBC, J.Lo filed for divorce on 20 August in the Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Neither Lopez or Affleck have publicly commented on their split.

However, some fans think Lopez may have hinted at the separation in a series of photos she recently uploaded on Instagram.

In a series of images posted to Instagram on Sunday, 1 September, J.Lo reflected on her summer, writing: “Oh, it was a summer.”

The photos in the carousel include a mirror selfie, a quote that reads, ‘everything is unfolding in divine order’ and a t-shirt with a printed quote from poet R.H. Sin.

It says: “She’s in bloom and unbothered, out of reach and at peace.”

Fans have been quick to comment on the tee, with one person writing: “Blooming, unbothered and blessing our timelines. Love you Queen!”

While another said: “AN UNBOTHERED Queen. We have to STAN.”

And a third added: “You look amazing, happy and healthy.”

Meanwhile, the creator of the tee said: “I gotta send you the shirt.”

Since the split was announced, fans have been left curious over the details.

Last week, a new detail emerged regarding one major request that Lopez has reportedly asked for following the split.

According to USA Today – who have reviewed the musician’s divorce filing – she has filed an official request to revert back to her maiden name.

If granted, she’ll henceforth be known – once again – as ‘Jennifer Lynn Lopez’.

According to a legal source speaking to People, the filing ‘speaks a ton’.

Lopez and Affleck tied the knot back in 2022 having first dated in the early noughties.

After almost two decades apart, having first gone their separate ways in 2004, the pair reunited – and fans were delighted for them.

While musician Lopez has been married three times – including to her long-time pal Marc Anthony, with whom she welcomed twins – Affleck previously wed Jennifer Garner, with the couple sharing three children of their own.
