Emily Gold, a 17-year-old gifted student, captured the hearts of viewers on America’s Got Talent with her dance team from Los Osos High School.

Tragically, Emily Gold, a 17-year-old dancer from Los Osos High School and a competitor on America’s Got Talent, passed away. Emily was discovered deceased on Friday, September 13, according to the San Bernardino Coroner’s Office.

The teenager from Southern California, who had just participated on AGT with her dance team, took her own life. According to Rodrigo Jimenez, the public information officer for the California Highway Patrol, officers arrived at the site at 11:52 p.m.

According to Jimenez, “when police arrived, they discovered a female, 17, who had been struck by a car in the carpool lane on the eastbound 210 freeway.” At the scene, she was pronounced deceased.

According to reports, Emily might have leaped from an overpass and fallen in Rancho Cucamonga, California’s carpool lane. Though no suicide note was discovered, her death is being investigated as a suicide.

Emily’s high school dance team made it to the quarterfinals of America’s Got Talent earlier this year, capturing the interest of millions of people.

Emily Gold and her team’s performance on *America’s Got Talent* particularly delighted Judge Simon Cowell, who praised the excitement they brought to the stage.

“It was simply amazing,” Cowell exclaimed at the performance.

“The enthusiasm was what I adored. I recently witnessed what a fantastic school ought to be doing: fostering friendship and talent.

“It made me think of *High School Musical* and how every child should attend a school like that,” he continued.

Emily talked with *People* following the show about the thought and effort she put into every production.

Even five minutes before we take the stage, I truly consider every correction we receive while I perform. My top priority is making those corrections,” she declared.

The students and faculty at Los Osos High School are shocked by Emily Gold’s terrible death. A fundraiser has been established to assist her family during this trying period.

The message for the fundraising said, “With deep sadness, we share that our Los Osos Grizzly, Emily Gold, has passed away.”

“Let’s get together as a community to help the Gold family. They will receive this money directly to help with their expenses.
