Pete Wicks has shut down romance rumours with Strictly dance partner Jowita Przystal just days after he “confirmed” his romance with Maura Higgins.
Pete has been linked to his Strictly partner Jowita in recent weeks.
The pair set tongues wagging when they were seen looking close at the National Television Awards earlier this month.
One onlooker said: “Pete was admiring Jowita outfits and told her she looked stunning. They were deep in conversation, and were both leaning in close.”
“It got people talking and wondering if there might be a Strictly romance this year after all.”
“There was a lot of affection between the pair. He was whispering in her ear which really made her smile.”
“At one point, Pete placed a protective hand on Jowita’s shoulder, it all looked very lovey dovey. They’ve clearly formed a very close bond during their time on Strictly,” the onlooker added.
However, now Pete has set the record straight during a joint appearance on This Morning on Tuesday.
Host Alison Hammond began their interview, by asking: “Do you actually listen to the judges or are you just in your own little world?”
Pete admitted: “I’m just in my own little world, we’re in a bit of a bubble when we dance!”
Then, Alison took advantage of the chance to question them about their alleged romance, cheekily asking: “Is it a love bubble?”
However, Pete insisted: “It’s not a love bubble unfortunately…”
Pete continued: “No, it’s not a love bubble, we have great chemistry because we’ve become such good friends.”
He gestured to Jowita: “She’s one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met, genuinely, not just in the dancing side of things but outside of that and I think that helps us with the whole dancing thing.”
In response to Alison’s question about if the two found the ongoing speculation about their relationship to be exhausting, Pete said, “Yeah, it’s always the same, I’m used to it.”
Dermot O’Leary, who chatted to the pair alongside Allison joked: “The thing is we’re not like that, it’s not our fault it’s Sam’s fault! Sam comes on and is like, ‘Oh no he’s totally in love!’ and is bouncing off the walls.”
Pete joked: “I blame Sam for most things that happen in my life, so there’s no surprise there either. But no, it’s not like that, we’ve become such good friends.”
The news come just days after Pete Wicks seemingly “confirmed” his romance with Maura Higgins, as the pair were seen looking very cosy in public following a recent date.
The two have been sparking romance speculation since the summer and have been spotted on a number of romantic outings since.
Pete and Maura first sparked romance rumours in August when they were papped kissing outside the Broadwick Soho Hotel.
Weeks later, Maura poked fun at the rumours when she supported Pete during his Staying Relevant podcast tour.
Now, in new photos obtained by The Sun, Maura and Pete have been spotted enjoying a kiss after a date at east London hotspot Gloria.
In the pics, the pair seemingly confirmed the romance with the very public kiss.
The Towie star can be seen kiss the Love Island star on the cheek before going in for a full snog.
In photos published by MailOnline, the pair put on a flirty display as they enjoyed a night out at The Ship in Wandsworth alongside his Strictly pals Wynne Evans, Tom Dean and Jamie Borthwick.
An onlooker claimed Pete and Maura were inseparable, whispering in each other’s ears and even interlocking legs.
The eyewitness said: “They were all over each other, I was surprised to see them looking so close because I thought he had real chemistry with Jowita.
“At one point they were basically straddling each other and didn’t seem to care at all that people could see them.
“You’d think Pete would be more concerned about Tom given he’d just been given the boot on Strictly but he only had eyes for Maura all night!”
