The brothers had a tough time with being famous, and they started using substances to cope with it. Barry Gibb’s brother, Andy, passed away in 1988 at just 30 years old. Maurice died in 2003 during an operation, and at that time, Barry and Maurice were not talking to each other. Robin died in 2012 because of cancer.

Barry Gibb didn’t turn to substances or get addicted, and he credits his wife for helping him through it. He said, “My brothers had their struggles, but I was married to a woman who wouldn’t let me go down that path. I could bring drugs home, but she made sure they ended up in the toilet. I was lucky.”

Barry has faced a lot of loss, not only his brothers but also his parents. He learned that life keeps going, and you have to keep going with it. After losing his brothers, Barry started his solo career.
