There’s no doubt that Eilish is an outspoken individual. Throughout her career, she has been vocal about various social and personal issues, using her platform to raise awareness and advocate for change.
The 22-year-old often speaks out against body shaming and unrealistic beauty standards. At the start of her career, she was known to wear loose-fitting clothes to avoid being judged for her body and had addressed the topic in her music and public appearances.

She also candidly about a time when she lost a substantial number of followers after a social media post.
“It was just because of the boobs,” the singer told Elle of losing more than 100,000 Instagram followers.
Back in the summer of 2021, the Grammy-winning artist posted a series of selfies showing herself wearing a Miaou tomato-print corset with a lace bra peeking out.
People left comments saying Eilish was being “disingenuous,” and claimed “the industry really changed [her],” according to Elle.
“People hold on to these memories and have an attachment. But it’s very dehumanizing,” she said of her decision to wear baggy clothing in the past.
“I lost 100,000 followers, just because of the boobs. People are scared of big boobs.”
She added: “The other day, I decided to wear a tank top. It wasn’t even a provocative shirt. But I know people are going to say: ‘Holy f***, she’s dressing sexy and trying to make a statement.’ And I’m like: ‘No, I’m not. It’s 500 degrees and I just want to wear a tank top.'”
The singer has swapped her signature baggy clothes look for a new appearance, and it’s safe to say she’s looking better than ever.
Her British Vogue cover marked the first time Eilish shared photos of herself wearing a corset on Instagram.
“People hold on to these memories and have an attachment. But it’s very dehumanizing,” she told the magazine.
The singer has been vocal in the past about her issues pertaining to body image.
As previously reported by Insider’s Callie Ahlgrim, Eilish encouraged people to normalize “real bodies” after she was photographed wearing tighter clothing in 2020.
In a 2019 Calvin Klein ad, Eilish said her signature baggy clothes was, in part, a strategy to avoid judgment.
“Nobody can have an opinion because they haven’t seen what’s underneath,” she said.
Despite the loss of 100,000 followers over a single post, Eilish’s Instagram page is still followed by more than 119 million people.
