The Hollywood power couple tied the knot in 2012, and are both huge names in the film industry

Lively, 36, and Reynolds, 47, tied the knot in 2012 and regularly share tongue-in-cheek posts celebrating their relationship online.

They have four children together and are both huge names in Hollywood as a result of their acting careers.

With Lively’s latest film, It Ends With Us, having been released on 9 August, and Reynolds’ latest film, Deadpool & Wolverine currently playing in cinemas, too – the couple have broke an incredible record as a result of both movies doing well.

It turns out that they are the first married couple in 34 years that have had their respective films top the box office charts.

The last time this happened with with film legends Demi Moore, who was starring in Ghost, and Bruce Willis, who was starring in Die Hard 2.

Lively is currently portraying Lily Bloom in It Ends With Us, which is based on a Colleen Hoover novel of the same name which chronicles a woman’s experience with domestic abuse.

Deadpool & Wolverine stars Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, and is a Marvel epic that delivers comedy and drama.

The two titles couldn’t be more different but have seen thousands of people flocking to buy tickets.

Variety reported that “[It Ends With Us] has collected a stellar $50 million from 3,611 North American venues in its opening weekend.

“[The film] took in $30 million internationally for an $80 million global start. It’s a huge win for the movie, which Sony Pictures and Baldoni’s Wayfarer Studios co-financed for $25 million.”

With regards to Deadpool and Wolverine, The Hollywood Reporter wrote that: “[The film] will finish the weekend with an estimated $1.029 billion in global ticket sales, including $494.3 million domestically and $535.2 million overseas.”

Not too shabby at all.

One person wrote on X, with regards to Blake and Ryan breaking such a major record: “Historic moment created by a wonderful couple.”

And another said: “That’s quite an accomplishment.”

Blake, who made her name in the teen drama Gossip Girl, was referenced in Reynolds’ latest film with a very cheeky quip.

During one scene, in typical Deadpool humour, Ryan’s character turns to the camera and jokes: “There are 206 bones in my body — 207 if I’m watching Gossip Girl.”
