An 11-year-old boy made scarily accurate claims about his past life as a powerful Hollywood agent who died over 40 years ago.
Ryan Hammond, born in Oklahoma in 2004, was just three years old when he began telling his parents about his supposed past life, giving them details that were impossible to ignore.
Hammond, who was 11 at the time of the interview, believes that he was once Marty Martyn, who began his career as an extra in movies before turning his attention to working with the talent behind the scenes.
Ryan’s claims gained him national interest in the US according to reports from The Sun, as his alleged past life recollections were so vivid and accurate.
Marty was born in Philadelphia in 1903 but later moved to Los Angeles for work, where he set up the Marty Martyn Agency which represented big names of the era such as Glenn Ford.
Marty died from a brain hemorrhage in 1964 at the age of 61 – 40 years before Ryan was born – but the young boy appeared to remember his tragic death, telling NBC News that he remembers his heart “exploding” before he moved towards the light.
Dr. Jim Tucker, associate professor of psychiatry and neurobehavioral sciences at the University of Virginia, studies cases of children who believe they are reincarnated, and says that Ryan is one who can recall events from decades before he was born with pinpoint accuracy.
His book, Return To Life, dedicates a chapter called He Came From Hollywood to Ryan and his incredible story.
Ryan would often tell his mother to take him to Hollywood so he could see his “other family”, and Ryan’s mom would collect images and books of Hollywood in Marty’s era for her son.
One such image was from the 1932 movie Night After Night featuring actor George Raft. When she showed it to him, Ryan allegedly pointed straight to the actor and stated: “Hey Mama, that’s George. We did a picture together. And mama, that guy’s me. I found me,” as he pointed to the man next to George.
Another incident that Ryan recalled vividly from his past life was him supposedly punching Marilyn Monroe’s bodyguard.
Ryan eventually met Marty’s sister and he couldn’t understand why she was no longer a young girl, as she would have been when Marty last saw her before his death.
Marty’s daughter confirmed a number of Ryan’s remarkable claims as they toured Los Angeles, seeing a number of sites associated with the former Hollywood agent.
As well as remembering his past life in the glitz and glamour of the golden age of Hollywood, Ryan also told his mom that he had in fact chosen her to be his mother when he was being reincarnated.
And while his memories were super vivid when he was a young child, memories of his alleged past life have faded as he has gotten older.
