Text messages sent from one of the 62 passengers who unfortunately passed away during a plane crash in Brazil revealed the terrifying conditions onboard.

On Friday (August 9), a Voe Pass plane flying from Cascavel in Parana to Guarulhos in Sao Paulo tragically plummeted to the ground.

The Brazilian Air Force shared in a statement that the aircraft was flying normally at 1:20 pm, but stopped responding to air traffic control a mere minute later.

Amidst the tragedy, a mother of one of the plane’s passengers shared text messages she received from her daughter during the flight to Brazilian network TV Globo.

In a message shared by her mother Rosemeire Xavier, 23-year-old Rosana Xavier wrote at 11:47 am, “Man, two hours of flight.

“We’re going to arrive in the rain. I am so scared of this flight.”

“I swear, the plane is old,” she added.

A minute later she wrote, “There is a broken seat. I swear. Chaos.”

She then took a selfie where she looked poker-faced and shared it with her family.

Rosana’s mother went on to share that she asked her daughter to read a Bible verse to calm down, but she also was starting to get worried after the text messages.

She then recalled the moment she heard about the crash on the news saying, “I was in despair. I started running around the house screaming.”

In an initial statement shared by the airline on Friday, they wrote “The aircraft took off from Cascavel-PR bound for Guarulhos Airport, with 58 passengers and four crew members on board. VOEPASS has taken all measures to support those involved.

“There is still no confirmation of how the accident occurred or the current situation of the people on board. The Company is providing support via telephone at 0800 9419712, available 24 hours a day, providing information to all its passengers, family members and employees.”
