• The incriminating text conversation mocking Matthew Perry before his death saddened people.
  • Months after the actor’s passing, five people linked to him were arrested as suspects.
  • Weeks before his demise, one of the doctors who administered ketamine to him saw him having an adverse reaction.

On August 15, 2024, five people were taken into custody in relation to Matthew Perry’s death. One of them is a physician who is said to have texted the “Friends” actor with damaging information prior to his passing. Fans responded negatively to the statement.

The narcotics investigation into Perry’s death led to the arrests. The US Department of Justice said at a press conference that same day that the star’s death investigations had turned up evidence of a “broad underground criminal network.”

They said that by selling Perry ketamine, the perpetrators “took advantage” of him. Below is a list of the suspects, along with their relationships to the deceased actor.

Suspects Who Were Arrested in Connection to Perry’s Death

Kenny Iwamasa

According to rumors in 2023, Perry resided in a leased condominium in Beverly Hills with his assistant prior to his demise. The star made monthly payments of $49,000 while renovating his Pacific Palisades residence. For a year, Perry’s 59-year-old helper, Kenny Iwamasa resided with him.

According to sources, Iwamasa had been in charge of Perry’s affairs for more than 25 years. On October 28, 2023, it’s thought that Iwamasa may have found the star’s body in his hot pool by accident.

Jasveen Sangha

Perry is said to have purchased the lethal dose of ketamine from Jasveen Sangha. People refer to her as “The Ketamine Queen.”

Dr. Salvador Plasencia

A qualified physician named Dr. Salvador Plasencia is charged with giving the late actor over 20 vials of ketamine.

Dr. Mark Chavez

Another qualified physician, Dr. Mark Chavez, is said to have helped secure the ketamine. He ran a ketamine clinic in the past.

Erik Fleming

Perry’s friend and “broker,” Erik Fleming, has already entered a guilty plea. He entered a plea to one count of ketamine distribution conspiracy and one count of ketamine distribution that caused death.

Iwamasa is thought to have worked with Chavez and Sangha to obtain the ketamine. Despite not having any medical expertise, reports imply that Iwamasa may have given Perry the medication.

When internet users saw that Plasencia had texted Chavez eight words during their discussion on Perry, they expressed their dismay.

Netizens Saddened by Incriminating Text

After reading the texts between the two doctors connected to Perry’s demise, many on social media expressed their emotions.

One user used a crying emoticon in their response to a publication’s Facebook post about the issue.

The person wrote“So the people who he thought and trusted were his ‘friends’ were not his ‘friends’ at all, so so sad.” Another added“What a sad story of a man who had so much to live for.”

A Facebook user, touched by how Perry was deceived, said“This is just so sad.” Another reader shared that the news left them “Heartbroken.” The ominous text message sent from Plasencia to Chavez was an effort to get ketamine to sell it to Perry.

The Incriminating Conversation

According to the US Attorney’s Office, Plasencia texted Perry after finding out about his desire to obtain the drug. Plasencia and Chavez exchanged texts in 2023, talking about how much they would bill the late star for the medication.

While Perry struggled with his addiction to the substance, Plasencia allegedly wrote to Chavez, “I wonder how much this moron will pay.” He reportedly continued, “Lets [sic] find out.”

The prosecution states that Iwamasa waited for ketamine to arrive from Sangha in the months preceding Perry’s death. Perry’s death was reportedly four days away when Fleming told Iwamasa the material was “on its way to our girl.”

His reference to “our girl” turned out to be Sangha. Sangha allegedly sent Fleming a message after Perry passed away, telling him to “Delete all our messages.”

The five accused attempted to hide their activities, according to the authorities, by referring to ketamine with code phrases like “cans,” “bots,” and “Dr. Pepper.” It has been reported that Plasencia knew Perry was endangering his life.

Perry Froze up Once While Taking the Substance

16 days before to Matthew Perry’s passing, Plasencia allegedly knew that his life was in jeopardy because of an incident. US Attorney Martin Estrada said during a press conference that Plasencia had given Perry a narcotic injection once, and that when he did, something alarming occurred.

After injecting the late actor, Plasencia saw him “freeze up, and his blood pressure spiked.” Estrada revealed that the doctor appeared concerned and advised Iwamasa, “Let’s not do that again.”
