Donny Osmond recently shared a captivating family photo that left fans in awe of the striking resemblance among his grandchildren. The image quickly went viral, sparking a wave of heartfelt and enthusiastic reactions from his followers.
Donny Osmond, 66, wowed fans by sharing a photo of 10 of his 14 grandchildren. The photo showed off their strong family resemblance. He posted the picture during a family gathering on Memorial Day. The family gathered at his parents’ gravesite, and fans quickly noticed how much the grandkids look like Osmonds.
In the photo, Donny and Debbie Osmond are surrounded by their grandchildren as they honor his parents on Memorial Day. Fans loved the picture and left comments like, “Lots of Donnie Osmonds in that pic!” and “Wow, some of your grandkids look just like your brothers when they were little. Those Osmond genes are strong!” Another fan wrote, “Such a beautiful and large family!!! ❤️“
He posted the same photo on Facebook, captioning the post, “I miss my Mother and Father but I know we will be together again someday.” Fans were similarly amazed, flooding the comment section with sentiments such as, “Such a beautiful family! The memories you are making for your grandchildren are priceless.”
Another fan agreed, “Beautiful family pic!! Glad you enjoyed your holiday!!” One more added, “Beautiful family. I see a few of them definitely look like you!!”
Donny has always cherished his role as a grandpa. In an interview in August last year, he talked about introducing his 14 grandchildren to his career. Reflecting on this, he shared, “I consciously make an effort to take a back seat and just be grandpa, not a celebrity.”
Donny and his wife, Debbie, grandchildren come from their five children: Don, Jeremy, Brandon, Christopher, and Joshua. Despite his fame, Donny enjoys being a regular grandpa. He spends time with his grandchildren and enjoys watching his sons step into their roles as fathers.
Donny takes great joy in seeing his children carry on family traditions, too. “It’s such a wonderful warm feeling to see your child become a parent and to see them raise their own children and to take on the kind of family traditions that Debbie and I have started,” he said.
One special tradition Donny has created is planting a fruit tree for each of his grandchildren in his orchard. He recently added a tree for his grandson, Dune Tyler Osmond, born to his son Chris and his wife Alta.
“I just planted Dune’s tree, and Aussie Rae’s is starting to get all the peaches on,” he shared, referring to Chris’s daughter born in 2020. He enjoys taking his grandkids to the orchard to pick fruit from their own trees.
As Donny’s grandchildren grow up, he often reflects on his own childhood in show business. “What’s really fun is that now I’ve got an 18-year-old grandson, and I remember doing the Donny & Marie show when I was his age,” he once said.
Donny started singing at four and performing professionally at five. Now, he marvels at how his grandchildren are growing up, thinking about his own experiences at their age.
Donny shared his excitement at sharing his fame with his grandchildren in a different country. “In the UK, my career is so much different,” he explained. “I’m more of an artist than a television personality here in the United States. But in the UK, it’s bedlam, it’s absolutely crazy. And they’ve never seen grandpa in that kind of an atmosphere.”
He recalled how amazed his grandchildren were when they saw his Las Vegas show in 2021. “Just before the show started, I’m wrestling with them on the ground, playing with them. But after the show, they treat you a little bit differently. Especially the young ones [were like], ‘Wait a minute, is that grandpa out there?'” he said.
During family gatherings, like a watch party for the season two finale of “Claim to Fame,” Donny prefers to step back and simply be with his family.
He shared that although he and his wife were the heads of the house, he let his boys take over when they were all together. “I consciously make an effort to take a back seat and just be grandpa, not a celebrity, not the head of the house with my wife, none of that. It’s just like grandpa’s in the corner playing with the grandkids. That’s what I like to do,” he shared.
Donny’s dedication to his family extends beyond gatherings and traditions. On April 4 this year, he shared a video of his grandson, Daxton, performing in “Les Miserables” at the Timpanogos Valley Theatre.
This moment highlighted the involvement of the Osmond family in the arts. Donny’s grandson showed that the legacy of talent and love for performing continues to thrive in the younger generations.
This is not the first time that Donny has posted on social media and grabbed fans’ attention. We previously reported that Donny shared a throwback photo of him and his wife to celebrate their anniversary.
