Kate, 42, began receiving treatment for the Princess of Wales in late February, and she is currently undergoing prophylactic chemotherapy.
The Princess provided a personal update before to her June 15 appearance at Trooping the Colour. Despite working from home, she said that her therapy was “good,” adding that she still had “good days and bad days” and that she was “not out of the woods yet.”
These events should not be interpreted as the Princess returning to public life, despite Kate’s statement indicating that she expects to attend a “few public engagements over the summer.”
During their children’s school summer breaks, the Prince and Princess of Wales resided at Anmer Hall in Norfolk. They spotted the entire family at Bear Grylls’ Go Wild festival.
On August 11, Kate and Prince William also congratulated Team GB on their accomplishments at the Paris 2024 Olympics in a video message.
The King’s birthday procession and the Wimbledon Men’s Final are two significant public events that the Princess has attended in recent months.
Here is what we know about her progress based on her chemotherapy.
What Kate says on her well-being
The Princess made her statement public on June 14 and Kensington Palace also shared a fresh photo of her leaning against a tree on the Windsor Park property.
“I have been blown away by all the sweet messages of support and encouragement over the last few months,” stated Kate in her letter. For William and me, the shift has been enormous, and it has gotten us through some really difficult moments.
“Everyone who has had chemotherapy knows that there are good days and bad days, but things are going well.” Your body tells you to relax when you’re having a difficult day because you’re weak and exhausted. Naturally, you want to take advantage of the times when you feel stronger and have more success.
“I will continue receiving treatment for a few more months.” When I’m well enough, I enjoy participating in school activities, doing enjoyable things, and beginning to work from home.
“I know I’m not out of the woods yet, but I’m looking forward to The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer.”
Leaving the house in public
When Kate joined the royal family at Trooping the Colour in June, fans of the family were ecstatic.
Kate, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis rode in a carriage to the ceremony at Horse Guards Parade. She had on a Jenny Packham outfit in white and navy.
The Princess and her three kids watched the flypast from the balcony with the Prince of Wales, the King and Queen, and other significant royals who hold government positions.

When Kate attended the Men’s Wimbledon final the following month with her sister Pippa Matthews and daughter Charlotte, she was met with a standing ovation from the spectators on Centre Court.
The queen was stunning in a purple Safiyaa London dress as she observed Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic play. She presented the winning trophy to Alcaraz on the court following the match.
When is Kate going to re-join the royal family?
The Princess hasn’t started making as many public appearances as she formerly did, and her feelings will determine whether or not she does so in the future.
There is no definite schedule for Kate’s return to work; she is being allowed time to recuperate and rest before doing so.
On March 22, the mother of three revealed the information in a private video message. She stated that when she underwent abdominal surgery in January, it was believed that her illness was not malignant. However, postoperative examinations revealed the presence of malignancy.
Part of what Kate stated was, “I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful. It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family.”
When the Prince and Princess “felt it was right for them as a family,” they promised to let everyone know.
“This came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to deal with this privately for the sake of our young family,” Kate stated in her statement. It’s no surprise that this has taken some time. After undergoing significant surgery, I had to wait before beginning my treatment.
“But, above all, it has taken us some time to reassure George, Charlotte, and Louis that everything will be alright and to explain everything to them in a way that makes sense for them.”
What type of cancer is Kate suffering from?
The type of cancer she has not been made public by Kensington Palace, as the royal family wishes to maintain the privacy of her medical history and personal health.
For what reason did she require surgery?
The public has not been informed of the reasons behind Princess Kate’s significant stomach surgery in January. It was believed at the time that the surgery wouldn’t result in cancer. Subsequent testing, however, revealed the presence of malignancy.
Kensington Palace verified at the close of January that Kate had been brought to the exclusive London Clinic for her scheduled abdominal surgery.
“The surgery went well, and she will likely stay in the hospital for ten to fourteen days before going home to continue her recovery,” the palace stated in a lengthy statement. Her physicians have advised that she most likely won’t be able to return to work until after Easter.
“The Princess of Wales is happy that people will pay attention to this statement.” She wants everyone to know that she doesn’t want anyone to know about her private medical information and that she wants to keep things as normal as possible for her children.
