Fans can’t get over Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin’s brilliant chemistry while introducing an award at the 2024 Emmy Awards.
The trio, who star in Hulu‘s Only Murders in the Building together, took the stage at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles to present the first award of the evening for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

Before announcing the winner, Gomez, Short, and Martin brilliantly bounced off each other in a bit that fans seem to be loving.
“What a magical evening it’s been trying to remember people’s names,” Gomez began. “And pretending that we’ve seen their shows,” Short hilariously added.
Fans online are all saying the same thing following the trio’s bit with one user writing on Twitter: “I need Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short to host the Oscar’s next year like this kind of chemistry is almost never seen anymore.”
Another wrote, “How did Steve Martin and Martin Short even discover they had insane chemistry with Selena Gomez? they just adopted her [for real] so f***ing good together.”
“I have no idea how anyone could have thought that Selena Gomez would be perfect comedic foil for Steve Martin & Martin Short, but that person is a genius. Amazing chemistry & Only Murders is one of my favorite shows ever,” another added.

Several fans noted how you can hear Short telling Gomez “I got you baby” when they first walked out on stage. He appeared to respond to Gomez who said “I’m about to fall.”
“I love that you can hear Martin Short say ‘I got you baby’ to Selena Gomez as they’re walking out on stage at the Emmys,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
Another added, “I’m about fall, I got you baby…Lovely interaction between Selena Gomez and Martin Short as they come out to present.”
Short also proceeded to hype Gomez up for receiving her first Emmy nomination ever for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

“Selena is nominated as best comedy actress for the first time,” Short celebrated on stage prompting Gomez to hide her face while the audience applauded.
“I love how much Steve Martin and Martin Short clearly adore Selena Gomez,” one user wrote on Twitter about the moment.
While Gomez did not end up winning the nomination, she still had a big night presenting alongside her costars.
