A father/son duo have made history as they were announced as the hosts of the 2024 Emmy Awards.

Eugene Levy and his son Dan are set to host the 2024 Emmy Awards from the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles on September 15.

The Schitts Creek actors are both Emmy winners.

The show will air live on ABC on Sunday, September 15.

Eugene and Dan will be the first father-son duo to ever host the awards show.

“For two Canadians who won our Emmys in a literal quarantine tent, the idea of being asked to host this year in an actual theatre was incentive enough,” Eugene and Dan shared in a press release.

“We’re thrilled to be able to raise a glass to this extraordinary season of television and can’t wait to spend the evening with you all.”

Nominations for the 2024 Emmy Awards were announced back in July with Shōgun and The Bear leading the pack for most nominations with 25 and 23 honors, respectively.

Hit drama series Shogun, which transported viewers to early 17th-century Japan, topped television’s Emmy nominations earning 25 nods.

The Bear broke the comedy record for most nominations in a single year, with 23, ahead of Only Murders in the Building which landed 21.

True Detective: Night Country, starring Jodie Foster, topped the limited or anthology series section, scoring 19 nominations

Other comedy nominees included Abbott Elementary, set in an underfunded Philadelphia school, and HBO’s Hacks, about a septuagenarian comedienne and a millennial writer.

Baby Reindeer, the story of a bartender stalked by a customer, was nominated for best-limited series, one of its 11 nods.

Creator and star Richard Gadd has said the tale reflects a true story, though a defamation lawsuit argues its portrayal of the stalker is exaggerated.

Emmy-winning actors Sheryl Lee Ralph and Tony Hale named the nominees in a live press event from Disney’s El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.

The Emmy Awards will air live on ABC on Sunday, September 15, from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
