Two foodies have been praised for their hack to get around the expensive Five Guy prices.
Five Guys is great, amazing burgers, cheeky hot dogs, and all the fries you could want.
But my goodness those prices… it can definitely be hard to justify getting a meal.
However, there could be a solution. Two food reviewers on TikTok have gone viral with their hack that can cut the prices significantly. Essentially getting you two burgers for the price of one, or buy one, get one free.
The clip has so far been viewed more than 225,000 times since being posted on the NateandSaraheats TikTok page.
You would then load up on all the desired toppings and condiments, which are free, and transfer what you want to the second bun.
Boom, job done, you now have two burgers.
“That’s two meals for less than half the price of buying them separately,” according to the pair.
And because Five Guys has a reputation for providing the most fries, getting a small bag can be enough to split between two people.
When you think about it, the method is pretty straight forward but it definitely does what it says on the tin, and saves you money.
Social media users praised the duo for the hack and insisted they would be trying it themselves.
“That’s [a] pretty genius hack honestly, especially if your kid only wants cheese and burger with no toppings!” one user wrote.
“This is so smart,” added another.
However, some joked that after seeing this video, Five Guys would likely remove the added bun option.
Might be worth giving it a go before the burger joint catches on.
If it doesn’t work, atleast you can still enjoy the massive amount of fries they give you, something the company is very proud of.
Five Guys’ fries are freshly made on site and cooked in peanut oil to avoid trans fats and preservatives, meaning that they’re a little healthier than your average fried potato.
Speaking of this, Five Guys founder, Jerry Murrell, told Food Republic: “Peanut oil is a healthier oil. Lots of people prefer to use hydrogenated oils for a crisper fry, but we want that melt-in-your-mouth buttery taste that non-hydrogenated oil offers.
“There are no trans fats or preservatives, and it’s the purest oil available. Since fries are all we cook in it, nothing touches our oil except for potatoes and our fry baskets.”
