George Clooney and his family have made a significant change in their lives. The actor, along with his wife and children, has left California to move to France. He previously acquired property in the southeastern part of the country—specifically in Provence, a trendy region home to many other celebrities. Now, his neighbors include Bono, Elton John, Johnny Depp, and of course, his close friend Brad Pitt, whose Château Miraval is less than a thirty-minute drive from George’s property.

The 62-year-old actor recently moved with his family—46-year-old wife Amal and their 6-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander—into a home he purchased back in 2021 for $8.3 million. For this impressive sum, he acquired an 18th-century mansion along with an estate known as Domain du Canadel. On the property, there is a large garden, a tennis court, a pétanque court, and extensive vineyards covering 10 hectares. It’s quite possible that George, following in Brad’s footsteps, might venture into winemaking, as he has previous experience in the alcohol industry—not with wine, but with tequila. He co-founded the successful brand Casamigos with his friend Randy Gerber, which they later sold for nearly a billion dollars.

It’s worth noting that the move to France doesn’t mean Clooney is giving up on his other properties. He still owns apartments in New York and Los Angeles, an estate along the Thames near London, and his famous villa in Italy on Lake Como. The latter was once the couple’s favorite getaway, but it has recently become too crowded, not to mention the constant presence of paparazzi. As a result, Clooney decided to relocate to the quieter French countryside. This new French mansion will serve as the family’s primary base, while they will visit their other homes occasionally.
