The couple married in a televised ceremony in January after meeting on the spin-off of The Bachelor
Gerry Turner of The Golden Bachelor has announced that he and his wife Theresa Nist have decided to divorce after just three months of marriage.
News of the couple’s split comes after their wedding was televised in January during the first season of the spinoff of the much-loved dating show The Bachelor.

Turner, 72, went on the show in the hope of finding love and appeared to have been successful when he met Nist, 70, on the show late last year.
When Nist gave her vows, she told Turner: “I promise to be your calm in a storm, to comfort you when you’re sad, to laugh with you when you’re happy, and just stick with you throughout it all.”
The pair soon began to plan their lives together, with Nist telling ABC News in November that they had made plans to live in South Carolina.
Fast-forward to today (12 April), and Turner announced on Good Morning America that he and Nist have decided to go their separate ways.
“Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation and so forth and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion, mutually, that it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage,” Turner said as the couple appeared on the show today.
Nist added that the pair were grateful for all the support they received both on the show and afterwards, saying: “I don’t think we can tell you how many people told us that it gave them so much hope. We want none of that to change for anybody.”
The couple didn’t share details about what led to their split, but indicated it may have had something to do with the decision about where to live.
Nist is from New Jersey, and works as a financial services professional, while Turner is a retired restaurateur from Indiana.

Nist explained: “We looked at homes in South Carolina, we considered New Jersey, and we just looked at homes after home. But we never got to the point where we made that decision.”
Turner said: “We just feel like it’s best for the happiness of each of us to live apart.”
Though the pair have decided to end their marriage, they made clear they have not ended the relationship on bad terms.
In fact, both members of the couple stated they still had strong feelings for the other.
Turner explained: “There’s no doubt in my mind, I still am in love with her. I root for her every day.”
Nist shared in his feelings, saying: “Yeah, I still love him.”
