For celebrities, being photographed is a routine part of life, and Goldie Hawn is no exception. Since her breakout role in Cactus Flower in 1969, Hawn has been in the public eye and has become accustomed to the attention that comes with fame.

As her career progressed, Hawn’s celebrity status only grew. She has been married to Gus Trikonis and later to Bill Hudson, both of whom also worked in the entertainment industry.

Hawn’s children followed in her footsteps and pursued acting careers as well, so it’s no surprise that she is often captured by photographers when she is out and about.

Recently, the 78-year-old actress was photographed in a swimsuit while on vacation, sparking a wide range of reactions from online viewers. Many commenters had strong opinions regarding her appearance.

Hawn has been in a relationship with actor Kurt Russell since 1983, and they share one child together. Russell has also played a significant role in raising Hawn’s two children from her previous marriage, Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson.

One user expressed disappointment over the actress’s tan, stating, “I love her, but I dislike the color and style of this swimsuit. A little tanning cream wouldn’t hurt.” Others critiqued her choice of swimwear, with one remarking, “At a certain point, there are just some swimsuits or shorts you shouldn’t wear anymore.”

Conversely, some users praised Hawn’s appearance, with one comment saying, “This is an amazing photo! I hope that when I’m 78, I can stroll along the beach in a bathing suit and not care what anyone thinks! She looks beautiful!”

Some commenters defended her against negativity, writing, “My God, people, leave her alone. She looks fantastic for her age. End of story!”

Hawn herself embraces the process of aging, stating, “Getting older is a fact of life. By living mindfully, you realize that life is full of transitions, and you simply have to navigate them,” she shared with People. “It’s a gift to age because it means you’re still alive, right?”

However, she is also acutely aware of the age bias prevalent in the industry and among its audience.

“You really think you can change the system? That you can prove to Hollywood at 45 that you’re still a sexy, viable person? No. There’s a harsh reality,” Hawn told Bazaar. “Does it make me angry? Not at all. I’m not an angry or militant person. Anger doesn’t lead to anything productive.”
