Most of us probably have a one-sided view when it comes to Hollywood and celebrities. I’ll admit that I sometimes try to dress and act like them.

That’s not too strange; we humans tend to imitate each other when it comes to clothes, interests, and appearance.

Celebrities are often seen as perfect beauties without any flaws. They always look amazing in movies, on the red carpet, in photoshoots, or even on the streets. They just seem flawless.

But every now and then, we get a glimpse of what celebrities really look like without makeup, flattering lights, or fancy clothes. We’ve seen several examples like this in recent years, and it’s only then that we realize, thankfully, that celebrities are also just normal people, not super-humans.

Goldie Hawn, 74, has always been one of my absolute favorite actresses. Her smile, charm, and talent have captured millions of people over the years. Few can do what she does – but Goldie has kept her movie star status and popularity for over three decades.

Since her big break, Goldie has been praised for her natural looks and her golden, blonde hair. In April 2020, Goldie was on the front cover of People Magazine’s “Beautiful Issue,” celebrating 30 years.

Today, the peace-loving blonde serves as a true role model of inner beauty – Goldie is a confident and strong woman who has aged gracefully.

But that wasn’t always the case.

”When I was younger, I was flat-chested, my face was all over the place because of hormones, and I felt awkward. I wasn’t asked out by boys and I didn’t think anybody would ever love me. It’s tough for a girl to feel good about herself during that time – and often, the girls who do feel good about themselves are the early developers,” she told Beauty Heaven.

As Goldie became more famous and got bigger roles in movies, she learned to accept herself. There were many critics who had opinions about her – which forced Goldie to find her inner strength.

”Some people think you’re beautiful; some people think you’re ugly. They voice a lot of opinions, so you have to become resilient to it – and to do that, you have to learn and understand who you are and what you really think about yourself. That’s where I learned about my inner beauty,” she says.

A few years ago, the award-winning actress appeared in public without makeup, in broad daylight. Many people reacted to the photo because Goldie didn’t look like the actress we’re used to seeing. Without makeup, she looked almost unrecognizable (yet the paparazzi managed to catch her).

At the same time, many people praised her natural look, and I can only cheer for her carefree attitude. Just because Goldie doesn’t wear a lot of makeup doesn’t mean she doesn’t take care of her skin and face.

“One of the most important things is sleep. Getting enough sleep is crucial. Also, things like using good oils, keeping your face soft by removing dead skin, and wearing sunscreen every day are important. I also take the time to really massage my creams into my face,” Goldie says.

In an interview with Pop Sugar, Goldie revealed that she drinks two tablespoons of olive oil before bed and massages her face.

“The skin is our biggest organ, and as you get older, you get drier,” she said.

In the entertainment industry, where looks matter a lot, Goldie often has to answer questions about her body, skin, femininity, and appearance. Many celebrities have spoken out against age discrimination in Hollywood.

Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Aniston, Helen Mirren – all of these big stars have criticized age discrimination in Hollywood and called for a change. But Goldie has a slightly different view. She wants to approach the issue differently to make a change.

“In 2017, she told Harpers Bazaar, ‘You think you’re going to fight the system? You think you’re going to prove to Hollywood when you hit 45 that you’re still a sexy, viable object? No. There’s a certain reality. Does it make me angry? No. I’m not an angry person. I’m not a militant person. Anger doesn’t get you anywhere. It’s not productive.’”

In Hollywood, relationships often don’t last long. Celebrities break up and get divorced all the time. But Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn didn’t get that memo — they’re still in love after almost four decades together.

In the ’80s, the two acted in a few movies together, like the romantic comedy Overboard, but they don’t often appear together on screen.

Kurt is still a popular actor, starring in movies like Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and the Fast and the Furious series. Goldie has mostly stopped acting. However, they reunited on screen to play Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus in The Christmas Chronicles. A second movie is being made, and they’re set to play their roles again.

I absolutely love Goldie! A genuine funny wonderful lady and a brilliant actress!
