Jamie Lee Curtis shared some poignant remarks about her friend and Curb Your Enthusiasm star Richard Lewis, who passed away at the age of 76 due to a heart attack on Tuesday. The comedian and the 65-year-old actress co-starred in the sitcom Anything But Love for four seasons from 1989 to 1992.

She took to her personal Instagram profile on Wednesday after learning about Lewis’s passing, with Bette Midler being the first to break the news. Curtis credited the late comedian as “the reason I am sober” in a heartfelt tribute, accompanied by vintage photos of the two of them. Jamie recently marked 25 years of sobriety. She recalled the casting process for Anything But Love and shared her fond memories of Lewis, emphasizing his talent and the special connection they had. Jamie expressed her grief over the loss of her good friend and former co-star in a separate post, including a line from the Anything But Love theme song and an old photo with Lewis.

I recommend looking it up on YouTube and giving it a listen. If you can’t find it, I have recorded it for you to hear here. I am planning to present these to my friend Richard Lewis today.

The lyrics she shared said, “We would still be searching for the next big thing and trying not to fall… If we had never met/And the world got on without us/Just as if we were never that at all.”

“Hearts that beat like thunder and anything but love will do” Anything except love would suffice for everyone except for you.

Famous personalities and social media users, such as Larry David, who stars on Curb Your Enthusiasm, paid tribute to the late Richard Lewis.

He mentioned to HBO, “He’s been like a brother to me for most of my life.” “In the same hospital, Richard and I were born three days apart.”

It’s a rare occurrence, but he was simultaneously the sweetest and funniest guy. In an interview with Variety, the comedian said, “But today he made me cry, and I’ll never forgive him for that.”

While working with Lewis on the popular show, Cheryl Hines said, “I had the biggest crush on Richard Lewis when I was young.”
“No one was more adorable or attractive on stage than him.” Then, it was a dream come true when I got to work with him on Curb Your Enthusiasm.

“I learned more and more about Richard and his talents as time went on.” He was funny, which is why I fell in love with him, but he was also one of the kindest people I’ve ever met.

Cheryl mentioned, “He would take the time to let the people he loved know how much they meant to him, especially in the last few years.” While we were on breaks from filming Curb, he would express how much he loved me and how important I was to him.

“To have Richard Lewis love you.” A real gift. I love you, Richard. You will be missed. I love you, Joyce, and Richard’s entire family. Richard, Lawrence, cherished you. But you already know that.
