The renowned wrestler Kevin Sullivan passed away at the age of 74. He was seriously injured in an accident in May, from which he never fully recovered.
Early on Thursday morning, WWE announced The Taskmaster’s passing, prompting many to offer their respects to the former World Championship Wrestling icon.
The wrestler’s daughter Nicole revealed that Johnny had a “devastating accident” in May while signing autographs in Florida, prompting the creation of a GoFundMe for him last month.
“He had emergency surgery that saved his leg and life, but serious problems followed, including sepsis and encephalitis,” Nicole said on the GoFundMe website.
Kevin’s family is suffering greatly financially as a result of this unanticipated tragedy, as he has been hospitalized away from home and has been in and out of consciousness.
Kevin has shown remarkable strength in the face of these difficulties. Months later, he’s still struggling for his freedom.
The fundraiser, which is no longer active, managed to gather over $54,000 toward the family’s medical expenses.
WWE referred to Kevin as a “unique and influential figure in sports-entertainment history” when they released their statement.
