One of the worst emotions is betrayal, but when it comes from a close relative, it becomes even more terrible.
In Josie’s instance, she was completely devastated when her son lied to her.
In order for her son and his new bride to comfortably begin a family, the loving mother decided to offer her house to them. However, events unfolded in a way that Josie could never have predicted. She wrote to us to ask for guidance and to tell her tale.
This is her story.
In a three-bedroom house, I live alone. I ended up giving it to my freshly married son since he kept claiming it was the ideal place to start a family, and I moved in with my widowed sister.
My son informed me yesterday that his mother-in-law is going to live with them. “I didn’t leave my home to have her live with you,” I remarked.
We lied about immediately starting a family, my daughter-in-law said. We’re still too young to be ready. She went on, “But my mom is by herself. She will move in with us because we now dwell in a big home.
I cried out in rage, refusing to accept this arrangement. It’s still technically my house, I told her.
“My MIL is much more in need of us than you are,” my son continued. She is now a member of my family as well, so I must look after her.
I’m devastated and feel deceived. How should I proceed?
