According to the audio that was released, Billy Ray Cyrus is accused of calling his daughter Miley Cyrus a deplorable name and enduring months of “severe verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse” toward his separated wife Firerose.
After seven months of marriage, the 37-year-old singer and the 62-year-old country music icon filed for divorce and reportedly “kicked” her out of their house.
As was previously mentioned, an audio recording of the ex-couple’s tense argument was made public earlier this week.
Billy Ray’s ire at being forced to enter the stage late for a performance appears to have started the argument.
In the recording, the Achy Breaky Heart singer can be heard lashing out at Firerose: “If you had just left it the f*** alone, now I’m really f*****g p****ed, once again showing you will not listen. I don’t know who the f*** you think you are, but you will not listen. This ain’t about nothing. This is about you being a selfish f*****g b***h.”
Continuing his expletive-laden tirade, Billy Ray sneered: “I don’t think you’re real smart. I’ve changed my mind on that s**t. What I think you are is a selfish f*****g b***h. That’s what you are.”
When Firerose begged him to “please stop shouting,” he retorted: “This would not be happening if you had just shut your f*****g mouth. Look what a f******g mess you’ve made. What a dumb *ss [you are] …’cos you have to know I will not tolerate that s**t. You just f****d up…f*** you. You know better than that. F*****g idiot.”
In response to the backlash against him following the release of the audio, Billy Ray addressed the situation on his Instagram story, writing on Wednesday: “Hell yeah, I was at my wit’s end. As every day went by, I started realizing something was wrong. And that’s before I knew she was a fraud. I just knew something wasn’t right. That was before I knew she was David Hodges [sic] ex-wife. That’s before I knew her parents’ last name.”
In addition, Billy Ray targeted Miley Cyrus, his daughter and the first kid he had biologically with Leticia “Tish” Finley, his ex-wife.
Billy Ray is the father of six children in all, including Braison Chance Cyrus and Noah Lindsey Cyrus, as well as adopted children Brandi Cyrus and Trace Dempsey Cyrus from Tish’s prior marriage.
In another audio clip, Billy Ray bizarrely spoke about himself in the third person before calling Miley “that devil’s a sk**k.”
Leaked text messages between Billy Ray and his publicist, Scott Adkins, also showed him referring to his ex-wife Tish as “s**t,” calling her “a liar…a we…and a cheat. Complete sk**k. Scum of the earth. A fraud.”
He even compared her unfavorably to Lindsay Lohan‘s mother, Dina Lohan, writing: “[She] Makes Deanna Lohan look like Mother Theresa.”
On May 23, 2024, Firerose says Billy Ray ejected her from their house.
That same day, she was supposed to have a double mastectomy as a preventive measure after learning she carried the BRCA1 gene, which raises the risk of both breast and ovarian cancer.
When it was discovered that Angelina Jolie carried the mutation, she underwent a preventative double mastectomy in 2013, which brought attention to the gene.
Firerose said that Billy Ray had forbidden her from going back to the house to get her stuff, so she filed a lawsuit to reclaim it.
According to the documents, she had promised to leave after the divorce was filed and not to move back without his consent.
They had planned for Firerose to pick up her things on May 29, but since she was changing attorneys, those preparations fell through.
The former couple attempted to reschedule another date until July 12, when Firerose was informed she “would not be permitted to return.”
Firerose’s motion stated, “The letter cited that wife was not trustworthy and raised complaints husband had with alleged premarital conduct of wife.”
Firerose stated in court documents that Billy Ray demanded she stay in touch with her AA sponsor and shunned her from everyone else in her life.
