J.K. Rowling has explained why she will find it difficult to forgive Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson after they supported the trans community.
Rowling is best known for being the author of Harry Potter, one of the biggest franchises to have ever been created which is still widely loved across the world.
In recent times, the author has turned her attention to the trans community and has been vocal about a recently released report regarding NHS England and an independent review of their gender services for children and young people.
Charities working with trans youth have stated that “some of the language in the report is open to misinterpretation and could be used to justify additional barriers to accessing care for some trans young people.”

Following the release of the report, Rowling took to X, saying: “Over the last four years, Hilary Cass has conducted the most robust review of the medical evidence for transitioning children that’s ever been conducted. Mere hours after it was released to the press and public, committed ideologues are doubling down.”
“If I sound angry, it’s because I’m bloody angry. I read Cass this morning and my anger’s been mounting all day. Kids have been irreversibly harmed, and thousands are complicit, not just medics, but the celebrity mouthpieces, unquestioning media and cynical corporations.”
In response to her comments, one follower said: “Just waiting for Dan and Emma to give you a very public apology… safe in the knowledge that you will forgive them.”

As reported by the Mirror, both Radcliffe and Watson, who played Harry Potter and Hermione Granger respectively, have been vocal in their support of the trans community.
In response to the tweet, Rowling replied: “Not safe, I’m afraid. Celebs who cosied up to a movement intent on eroding women’s hard-won rights and who used their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors can save their apologies for traumatised detransitioners and vulnerable women reliant on single sex spaces.”
Back in 2020, after Rowling first publicized her criticism of the trans community, Radcliffe replied: “Transgender women are women. Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice given by professional health care associations who have far more expertise on this subject matter than either Jo [Rowling] or I.”

Speaking to those who felt that they could no longer be fans of Harry Potter, Radcliffe continued: “To all the people who now feel that their experience of the books has been tarnished or diminished, I am deeply sorry for the pain these comments have caused you. I really hope that you don’t entirely lose what was valuable in these stories to you.”
