She’s over it. Jana Duggar is probably long-aware of the rumors regarding her sexuality, and she’s finally speaking out about it. The Counting On star replied to a comment on her Instagram account about whether she’s dating her BFF Laura DeMasie, and set the record straight on the lesbian gossip.

In a now-deleted comment on Instagram, Jana said she’d like to ‘stop that rumor.’
According to HollywoodLife.com, Jana responded to a fan who asked if she was romantically involved with Laura with, “No. And I would like to stop that rumor. I have no interest in girls that way whatsoever.”
She also reportedly opened up about why she’s not married yet. “I have ‘courted’ or ‘dated’ a few guys, but so far nothing has gone into a serious relationship. Just continuing to wait and pray for the right guy to come along,” she explained.

It’s not the first time fans have wondered about something going on between Jana and Laura.
Especially considering how often she shows up in Jana’s life. They’ve taken vacations together, and Laura even traveled with Jana from Arkansas to Texas at the time to help Jinger (Duggar) Vuolo welcome baby Felicity to the world.
Jana’s brother-in-law Derick Dillard addressed the Laura rumors on Twitter.

It was also rumored that Jim Bob Duggar was trying to keep Jana’s female friendships under wraps.
A source told The Hollywood Gossip in 2017 that Jana’s father, Jim Bob, was actively trying to keep Jana’s close female friendships out of the media spotlight. They said that Jana does prefer the company of other females over men but wouldn’t go so far as to say she’s gay.

Fans seem especially eager for Jana to find love now that her twin brother John David is married.
John David married Abbie Burnett in November 2018 (in a wedding basically planned by Jana and Laura, by the way), making Jana the only one of Jim Bob and Michelle’s older kids who is unmarried. In their fundamentalist culture, it’s unusual for a woman to reach her mid-20s without tying the knot, so we’re sure Jana, who had just turned 29 at the time of her comment, feels the pressure.
We love that she’s doing things her own way and waiting for the right person. She’s said in the past, “There have been different guys who have come along and asked, but they haven’t been, I don’t know, the right one.” Jana also admitted that she’d been tempted to accept an offer just to have someone but ultimately resisted.
“It can be tempting, like, ‘Oh, I really want to be married,’ because in those moments, your siblings that are married and have little ones are going on dates and doing their thing,” she shared. “It’s like this weird in-between stage. I’m not a younger one, but I’m not an older, married one with kids.”
