Friends are supposed to look out for each other and sometimes give honest opinions about relationships.
While everyone has been excited about Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s reunion, Jennifer’s friend Jane Fonda has some concerns. The 86-year-old actress has shared her feelings about Lopez getting back with Affleck.
Jane and Jennifer became friends after working together on the 2005 film *Monster-in-Law* and have stayed close. Jennifer even invited Jane to be part of her new documentary, *This Is Me Now: A Love Story*.
In the film, Jane expressed two worries about Jennifer and Ben. She said, “I feel invested in you and Ben and really want this to work. But it seems like you’re trying too hard to prove something with all the photos of you kissing and hugging.”
Jennifer laughed off the comment, saying, “That’s just us living our life.”

Jane Fonda also shared her worries after seeing photos of Ben Affleck at the 2023 Grammys. She said she was “really scared” because he looked unhappy, and she thought, “Oh, my God, what’s happening?”
Jennifer Lopez reassured Jane that nothing was wrong with her relationship. She explained that Ben was just feeling like “the symbol of the tired man.”
Despite her critiques, Fonda added she believed “everyone in the entire world is pulling for this relationship and this love,” adding that the way the couple presents their relationship is “so important.”
“It should be handled in a way that you aren’t overly flaunting it, so much so that it creates any form of criticism or resentment.”
