John returned from an African safari and excitedly recounted his adventure to his friend, Mark.
“I was deep in the jungle,” John began, “when suddenly I heard a rustling in the bushes behind me. I turned around and saw a massive lion, licking its chops and staring right at me.”
John described how the lion began to chase him. “I ran as fast as I could, but the lion was right on my heels. Surprisingly, it slipped and I gained some distance. But each time it closed in, it slipped again!”
Exhausted and terrified, John spotted a nearby house and sprinted towards it. “With the lion almost upon me, it slipped for the third time. I managed to reach the house, slammed the door shut, and locked it just in time.”
Mark listened intently, then asked, “What do you think the lion kept slipping on?”
John grinned. “Well, I guess I’ll never know for sure!”
