Keanu Reeves is loved by many people, and it’s rare to find anyone who would say something bad about him. So, when he shared some bad news, it quickly got people’s attention and concern.
Recently, Reeves has been busy working on his new movie called Good Fortune. He appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to talk about an accident that worried some of his fans.
During the show, the 59-year-old actor explained how he broke his kneecap while filming. Known for his action-packed movies like The Matrix and John Wick, many people were surprised by how it happened.
Stephen Colbert asked him in a teasing way, “What happened? Who got to you?”
Keanu, using a tough voice, joked, “No one got to me. Accident got to me.”
Colbert then asked, “Were you jumping from building to building? Were you doing a cartwheel past razor blades? What were you doing?”
Keanu replied, “No, Stephen, I was walking into the dressing room, a room. I will tell it quick.”
He shared that while filming a scene for the upcoming comedy Good Fortune, alongside actors Aziz Ansari and Seth Rogen, he hurt himself. The three of them had just finished a cold plunge (a type of ice bath) and Keanu was doing the “cold shuffle” on a carpeted floor. Unfortunately, his foot got caught in the carpet, causing him to fall.
Standing up to show what happened, Keanu demonstrated how his knee gave out. “And I spiked. Like, spiked,” he said, describing how his knee slammed into the ground. “My patella, kneecap, cracked like a potato chip. But I didn’t know that. But then once my knee was blowing up”
He joked, “Comedy is hard, man!”
Stephen Colbert then added, “This was not an action film with Aziz and Rogen?”
Keanu confirmed, “No, it was comedy.”
Back in January, Keanu had been seen using crutches with an ice pack on his knee while filming. Good Fortune is directed by Aziz Ansari in his directorial debut and also stars Sandra Oh and Keke Palmer.
It’s great to hear that Keanu has recovered well. Share this story with others who want to know how he’s doing!
