In a spine-tingling encounter, Laura Watson, a 39-year-old mom from Newcastle, captured an eerie photograph at Plessey Woods Country Park in Northumberland that has left her and her family in shock. Watson, who asserts her skepticism regarding the paranormal, found herself unable to explain the mysterious ghost-like child that seemingly appeared over her nine-year-old son Byrin’s shoulder during their family outing on Monday.
” It’s exceptionally uncommon, and it has left everyone deeply unsettled. Both my daughter and I struggled to sleep last night due to the intense fear it triggered. I didn’t believe in anything like that until I saw this for myself,” Watson shared, emphasizing the profound impact of the inexplicable image.
Watson, a medical receptionist, adamantly denies the possibility of someone physically standing behind her son during the photograph. She insists that upon capturing the picture, there was no one present behind Byrin as he stood in front of a tree. The revelation unfolded when the family returned home, and Watson began reviewing the pictures on her computer. Upon zooming in, a mysterious figure resembling a child with a hand on Byrin’s shoulder became apparent.
“When I zoomed in further I could see a face. But I was like ‘but there was nobody there!’ It looks like a child to me, I don’t know if it’s a girl or a boy. But I can see this face, and it looks like the hand is on my son’s shoulder, which is very bizarre,” Watson detailed, expressing her confusion over the eerie figure.
The photograph has ignited speculation about the figure’s identity, with some suggesting it could be the spirit of a boy who drowned in the woods many years ago. Watson, however, admitted her lack of knowledge about the woods’ history, acknowledging that some people claim a young boy drowned in the river many moons ago.
While the eerie encounter hasn’t dissuaded Watson from returning to the woods, she expressed her hope that the unsettling presence captured in the photo isn’t lingering around her family. “Obviously I just hoped it’s not hanging around us as I don’t want that feeling that something’s with us,” she stated, emphasizing her desire to move past the unsettling incident.
