While newborns are in the world, they’re not entirely of it in the same way we are. They’re almost nocturnal. They don’t adhere to the three meals a day schedule, preferring to eat every two hours instead. They don’t care about our work schedules or prior commitments. For their parents, it’s hard to imagine them ever becoming productive members of society.

But for the government, they still need to be counted, and in some cases, tracked. Their births are recorded. They receive a Social Security number and if they leave the country, they need a passport.

A mom recently documented her newborn son’s passport photo session.

Passports require a photo, so one couple posted a TikTok video of their 7-week-old baby posing for his first passport photo. While a full-sized person would walk into the office and sit on the chair in front of the white background on their own, a 7-week-old is incapable of even holding their head up properly most of the time.

So dad supported this little guy’s back and held his head in place as he stared blankly toward the camera. Newborns don’t exactly have their expressions figured out yet, so the faces this baby made were pretty comical.

‘Not the most photogenic,’ his mother said of the final photo.

At one point, he sneezed — without covering his mouth. But eventually, they got the photo. Newborns are known for being adorably mushy, and the photographer captured that look in this baby boy’s photo. He was serving mushy and unmoved.

His mother shared the final picture with a simple caption: “Lol.” And then in the video description: “Not the most photogenic.”

But millions approved.

The video became a huge hit on TikTok, with over 45 million views and 7 million likes.  In the comments section, people shared their approval.

“Ugh, can relate a good photo is so hard to take,” one person wrote.

Other people openly envied this little guy’s life.

Someone else commented: “Why is a 7 week old traveling more than me ! He just got here.”

People made the baby’s image their profile photo.

People liked the image so much that some made it their own profile picture. Then others took it a step further, adding hats, mustaches, and other decorations to this young boy’s image. Next to their profiles they wrote comments about the uncanny resemblance.

“I never believed in doppelgängers till today,” one user wrote.

“Twin where have you been,” another asked.

Baby boy’s mom made sure to show him just how popular he has become online. Again, he was less than enthused.
