Canadian resident Ariana St. Amour has struggled with bodily disconnection and anxieties since infancy.
Ariana had distinctive haircuts, body piercings, and tattoos that made her stand out from a young age, yet she never felt fully whole.
When Ariana became an adult, she decided to take matters into her own hands. She underwent breast augmentation surgery, which she found to be quite fulfilling.
“I’ve always wanted to seem more extreme and am always trying to become better at myself. For me, attention is vital; it’s like air,” she says. Since she was seventeen, Ariana has been a gifted designer. She was inspired by dolls dressed in latex costumes and wanted to imitate their style.
Her changes have become worse since 2012. She’s had six procedures to remove ribs, changes to her lips, nose, and cheeks, and three more breast augmentations.
Ariana supports herself financially despite her expenses, thanks to the money she makes from her daring photo sessions. “I make no compromises in my quest for excellence, changing my look every year. I’ve always found resonance in the realm of latex, corsets, and goth,” she says.
Both fans and detractors have praised Ariana for her audacious decisions. Some applaud her, while others fiercely denounce her because they cannot believe how bold she is.
“I arouse intense responses, either adulation or fierce resistance. Even in the face of criticism and allegations, I make the decision not to focus on negativity. She says, “I refuse to feel ashamed.”
