Tom Cruise’s rumored love interest has just put an end to the gossip about their relationship.
Rumors were spreading that 25-year-old Spanish musician Victoria Canal was dating Cruise, so she took to social media to clear things up.
On her Instagram Story, Canal wrote, “Guys, I am not dating Tom Cruise. This is literally insane.” She also posted a photo with her hand over her mouth and added a longer caption on Instagram.
“Guys, this is literally bonkers. Apparently, the tabloids think I’m dating Tom Cruise. I’m deceased,” she wrote. “Let’s just stop this right here—I’m sorry to disappoint, but I am not dating him. Though he’s a lovely person and artist, LOL, I never thought I’d have to clarify this out loud in my life.”
Rumors about a romance between 62-year-old Tom Cruise and 25-year-old Victoria Canal started after they met at the Glastonbury Festival earlier this year. Page Six reported that their relationship had recently turned romantic, but Canal’s social media posts were meant to clear up the misunderstanding.
After they first met, Cruise reportedly invited Canal to the set of Mission: Impossible 8 in Oxfordshire, which surprised many of his close friends. “Tom invited Victoria to watch him film for the whole day, and that’s not something he usually does for just any friend,” a source told the Sun.
The insider added, “It might have seemed unlikely that they would be more than friends, but they’ve become almost inseparable. They’ve been spending a lot of time together, and Victoria is beautiful. It’s all been happening right in front of everyone.”
The rumors grew stronger when Tom Cruise was spotted in the VIP section at a Coldplay concert in June, the same night Chris Martin brought Victoria Canal on stage. Canal shared photos and videos from the concert on Instagram, calling it the “best day of my life.”
The pair also attended a Bruce Springsteen concert at Wembley Stadium and even posed for a photo with the musician. After meeting at Glastonbury, Cruise and Canal went together to the “Twisters” premiere. Canal shared, “We met backstage at Glastonbury, talked about the premiere we were both going to, and he said, ‘Roll with me!’” According to Page Six, Canal even traveled to the premiere with Cruise by helicopter.
Just a week after the “Twisters” premiere, Tom Cruise and Victoria Canal were spotted at the helipad at Battersea Power Station, which only fueled the rumors more. Despite these sightings, Canal made it clear in her Instagram post that their relationship is strictly platonic and professional.
She wrote, “In all seriousness, guys, Tom has been nothing but respectful and supportive, like a mentor. He’s been much like Chris Martin, my dad, my music teachers, and other wise people I’ve learned from. And again, I’m friends with all kinds of people who are different from me. You learn a lot if you’re open to the lessons life brings you.”
Tom Cruise has a history of high-profile relationships, including marriages to Mimi Rogers, Nicole Kidman, and Katie Holmes. He’s also been linked to Melissa Gilbert, Heather Locklear, and Penélope Cruz.
Earlier this year, there were rumors that Cruise was dating Russian socialite Elsina Khayrova after they attended a charity event together. In May 2023, he was linked to Shakira when they were photographed together at the Miami Formula One Grand Prix, but Shakira quickly dismissed those rumors.
