Biles previously hinted she’s getting too tired of competing at such a high standard. And her participation in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles is in doubt

Simone Biles continues to showcase her unparalleled talent at the 2024 Olympic Games in France, cementing her status as the greatest gymnast of all time. The American sensation has already added to her impressive medal haul, securing an Olympic tally to seven goldsone silver, and two bronzes.

As the world watches in awe, speculation grows about whether Biles will compete in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. At 27, the gymnast has hinted at retirement, but recent comments leave everything in the air.

During a media interaction on August 3, Biles left the door open for a possible appearance at the next Olympics. “Never say never,” she remarked, acknowledging the allure of competing on home soil in the USA. Then she added honestly “But I am getting really old, so I really don;t know.” she added with a smile.

She has been incredible so far

Whatever Simone Biles decides about her future in gymnastics, her legacy is secure. The star gymnast has rebounded spectacularly from her unexpected exit at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where she faced mental health challenges.

After taking a two-year hiatus to focus on her mental and physical health, Biles made a triumphant return, setting her sights on the 2024 Olympics. Now, at 27, she appears to be in the best form of her career, proving her resilience and unmatched talent.

“Simone is from another world, but we always try to get better and evolve in the best way possible,” said Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade, one of Biles’ closest competitors. “Watching her incredible gymnastics encourages everyone.”

As she contemplates her future, whether or not she competes in the 2028 Olympics, Biles will undoubtedly leave the sport with her head held high, having made an indelible mark on gymnastics history.
