Simone Biles will always defend herself. In her latest clapback, the 27-year-old Olympic gymnast shared some words with critics who had started talking negatively about her Paris Olympic opening ceremony hairstyle. Haters shared comments such as, “I’m just trying to figure out why Simone Biles hair never done ? Like girllll come on. STILL LOVE HER AND HOPE SHE DOES GREAT !” and “Simone Biles hair never being done properly be p—ing me off. Everybody else on the team is put together, then she looks like she just rolled out of bed.”
Simone replied to the critics.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Simone shared a video of herself using a battery-operated fan on a bus. “Don’t come for me about my hair,” she wrote. IT WAS DONE but bus has NO AC & it’s like 9,0000 degrees. oh & a 45 min ride.”
She posted a second story as well.
In a second story, the gymnast added some sass. “Gonna hold your hand when I say this 💋,” she wrote. “Next time you wanna comment on a black girls hair. JUST DON’T.”
Fans came to the gymnast’s defense.
Fans jumped to Simone’s defense against the haters.
“Imagine being the kind of person who watches Simone Biles perform moves that no one else can do, twirl in the air multiple times and land on her two feet…only to comment on her hair! Imagine having that mentality?” one person wrote.
“If one more person asks why Simone Biles’ hair is messy… she is quite literally flying and flipping in the d–n air,” another person commented.
She’s received hate about her hair before.
In 2023, Simone also responded to the negativity she received around her wedding hairstyle. “I think [haters] also forget i live in HOUSTON TEXAS & I sweat those out!!” she shared in response to someone saying her “edges should have been laid.” The gymnast added, “But they can keep complaining idc idc idc.”
Simone opened up about embracing her hair.
Earlier in July, Simone also opened up to Elle about how she used to be “embarrassed” in regards to her hair. Now, however, she’s learned to embrace it. “I’m finally learning to love my hair and the texture that I have and the styles that I can do.”
