Daniel’s parents insisted that he give up his newborn son for adoption when he was seventeen. A few years later, when he was a 27-year-old little league baseball coach, he met Robert, a new pupil, who looked a lot like his late fiancée Emily. After quitting his job as a teacher, Daniel had been coaching, but he couldn’t get rid of the thought that Robert might be his son.
When Emily tragically passed away while giving birth, Daniel and Emily were young and ill-prepared for motherhood. Daniel’s parents suggested that their son, whom Emily’s parents had refused to accept, be placed for adoption. Daniel, who had been coaching children of the same age as his son, found himself second-guessing his choice all the time.
Daniel asked Robert’s mother Nina about his strange similarity to Emily and she informed him that Robert was adopted. They decided to do a DNA test after he told her his story, which proved Robert was Daniel’s real son. Nina proposed that they tell Robert and find out whether he wants a relationship with Daniel, honoring her son’s right to know the truth.
Not only did Daniel and Robert become closer over time, but Daniel also became closer to Nina. Robert finally got the whole family he had always desired when their relationship eventually turned amorous and they decided to get married.
