Former Teen Mom dad Nathan Griffith is facing prison time. He shares son Kaiser with Jenelle Evans, star of the MTV docuseries. The relationship between Nathan and Janelle was rocky from the beginning. As of late, he’s been estranged from Kaiser’s life due to being incarcerated in a Nevada prison since June 2024. But that may turn into a longer time, as he was kicked out of the Veterans Treatment Court program that he was sentenced to in 2023 after pleading guilty to a charge of attempted assault by strangulation for choking his sister.
Nathan supposedly broke the program rules.
According to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, Nathan was kicked out of the program because he didn’t “adhere to the programming rules and policies.” He was reportedly kicked out on July 2, 2024.
He had several terms he was supposed to abide by.
The site previously reported that the terms Nathan agreed included following his sober living placement and not using or possessing drugs or alcohol. He was also mandated to a set curfew and had to attend counseling sessions, have his cellphone monitored, and not use anyone else’s phone or allowing anyone to use his phone.
Nathan used to serve in the Marines.
The reason Nathan was in the Veterans Treatment Court program is because he previously served in the US Marines Corps. Now that he’s been kicked out of the program, he will no longer be out on probation.
He faces up to 15 years in prison.
The former Teen Mom dad’s conviction will now be reinstated as “attempted battery by strangulation” on a permanent record. He faces a maximum of 15 years in prison and a minimum term of two years, along with paid fines.
Nathan previously admitted he wasn’t in a suitable state to care for his son.
Nathan formerly admitted that he wasn’t in any state to care for his son and that he wasn’t going to fight for custody. “I’m not in a position to go to court,” he said. “I just want what’s best for my son. That’s all I want.”
