The unfortunate reality is that underweight and emaciated dogs frequently end themselves in animal shelters. Witnessing animals suffer till they are nearly unable to stand upsets me.
Some show fondness and trust for humans despite their mistreatment, while others cower in dread at the sight of a rescuer. It is not worth considering occasionally what the latter have gone through.I find it impossible to think that I would ever want to harm an animal.
