In 2 months, Michael Douglas will turn 80, but the Hollywood legend is already beginning to hold celebratory events. The Oscar winner, along with his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and their children Dylan and Carys, as well as his son from a previous marriage, Cameron, and two grandchildren, gathered at their family home in Mallorca. The actor posted a video on social media in which he excitedly joins the locals in a small town’s village square.
“A village celebration for people turning 80!” wrote Michael.
The event also included other people who were about to turn 80, as well as those who had just celebrated their milestone. Each person wore a name badge and brought either a treat or a gourmet dish. Fans also started wishing Michael a happy birthday and left kind comments.
“I look at Michael and still see the young Douglas from ‘The Streets of San Francisco.’ Wishing you good health,” wrote a fan.
“So sweet. Happy 80th to everyone!” commented another.
In a recent interview, the actor admitted that he is grateful for having learned some life lessons before becoming a father, but he was not pleased that at his age, he was often mistaken for his children’s grandfather. He recalled visiting Dylan and Carys at university and the comments that followed.
“It wasn’t a grandfather’s day, it was a parent’s day. I told them, ‘I’m a father!’ It was rude,” Michael shared his memories.
Currently, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas are selling their family home in the U.S. because their children have grown up, and the couple wants to spend more time in Spain
