Very original! A couple spent a year building their dream home, a luxurious yurt, valued at $4 million. The yurt stands out for its unique blend of comfort, style, and environmental consciousness. Now look inside his magical house, you will be astonished.
Each of us has our own idea of a dream home. It could be a modest studio apartment in complete minimalism, or it could be an apartment in a high-rise building, or even a village hut with a vegetable garden or a Victorian-style mansion. Of all the possible options, everyone will find exactly the one that they will love with all their soul and become a dream, and maybe even the main goal of life.
A young couple, Zach and Nicole, set a goal to find their own home. And who would have thought that it would be a YURTA? Their modern, stylish home is 15 minutes from Portland, Oregon.
It took the couple a year to build the home.
Zach and Nicole even described the whole process, for which they created the “do it yurtself” website. The name was chosen for a reason – there is a hidden play on words. “Do it yourself” translates as do it yourself, and “yurt” means yurt.
Construction stages.
A rough plan is an idea of what the housing will look like from the inside.
The yurt frame is the basis of the future home.
There is a platform for installing the yurt, a lattice, rafters, a compression ring and a covering.
The couple did everything themselves, but they still purchased the yurt itself.
Zach believes that for a reliable and modern version of the yurt, the frame and materials are better to buy ready-made. Since they plan to live in a yurt for a long time, but do not intend to wander.
The installation of the platform itself turned out to be difficult.
On a 5-point scale, the young man rated the level of difficulty at 4.5 points.
The installation took 11 days.
The cost of such a platform is $10 thousand (approximately 650 thousand in rubles).
The help of family friends was very helpful.
The next stage was the installation of the structure itself.
