A TikTok star has recently issued a warning to her followers after being left with painful chemical burns on her face.
Stephanie Margarucci, better known by her username BeastEater, has shocked her fans after posting videos of the injuries she sustained to her face.
Clips that were posted to both Instagram and TikTok showed burns across her forehead, cheeks, and nose with some deep scarring as well as some bruising.
The 24-year-old has been documenting her healing journey after initially joking that she jumped into a vat of acid but it turns out that the true culprit behind the facial disfigurement was none other than an expired cosmetic product.
In one video she wrote: “Shoutout to the hospital I wouldn’t be here without medicine.”
In another, she also hinted that steaming her face led to the spread of a bacterial infection, which she had to undergo treatment for.
“When you get a chemical burn all over your face and it turns into a infection [sic] that started to spread through your blood stream and almost killed you,” she said in response to a fan comment.
While Margarucci did not name the product she used, she did mention that it was a type of spot treatment which led to social media users contemplating what it could be in the comments, with many claiming to have had similar experiences.

The TikToker also stated that it was completely her own fault and that she should have been more careful, urging her 20.3 million followers on the video-sharing platform to also be vigilant when it comes to expired products.
“I just want to be a voice and let everyone know to routinely check their makeup and skincare product expiration dates,” she wrote in a text overlay before adding: “I am in so much pain and physically can’t even look at myself. I feel very defeated.”
Thankfully though, Margarucci has been updating her fans with new videos showing how well her face has been healing over a few weeks.
In her latest video posted to TikTok, the star can be seen with just a few scars and some pigmentation left on her skin in the aftermath of the chemical burn – it’s definitely come a long way in such a short period of time.
And of course, people turned out in their numbers to wish her well.
“ITS HEALING SOOO GOOD YOURE ALMOST DONE BEAUTIFUL,” wrote one fan.
“STILL AMAZING YOU ARE! I see the glow happening & the healing coming through for you,” another added.
A third chimed in with: “You’re looking really good! The skin is looking soo good! and i’m just super happy your here with us.”
We’re glad to see that Margarucci’s on the mend and we wish her well on her journey to full recovery.
