Tom Cruise is reportedly “set to perform epic stunt” at the 2024 Paris Olympics closing ceremony.
The Olympics is currently taking place in Paris, France, beginning on Friday, July 26 and is to end on Sunday, August 11, 2024.
According to TMZ, the Hollywood superstar is rumoured to make an appearance at the ceremony at the famous Stade de France in Saint-Denis.
Tom is know for undertaking most of his own stunts for films and will now be passing the flag to Los Angeles for the 2028 instalment of the games.
The publication reported that the actor will scale down from the top of the Stade de France and land on the field while holding the official Olympic Games flag.
The Mission: Impossible star will also appear in a pre-recorded clip which marks the transition from the Paris Olympics to the forthcoming 2028 Olympics in LA.
Reportedly, the clip will see Tom bring the Olympic flag to LA as he lands on the Hollywood sign – passing it to an athlete.
TMZ further reported that details of his stunt for the ceremony are still being finalised ahead of August 11th.
However, a stunt double may be used due to logistics and safety.
Tom was reported to have pitched the idea to the International Olympic Committee himself.
