He wore a black suit paired with a white shirt and jeans, adding flair with a black necklace featuring a silver ring pendant and black eyeglasses. Leaning against a wall, Dean posed in various angles, allowing his followers to fully appreciate his bold new haircut.

In addition to his new hairstyle, the “True Tori” star celebrated one year in his sobriety journey. He thanked his sponsor, sponsee brothers, and everyone in his recovery fellowship, encouraging those struggling with addiction to seek help.
“We’re here waiting for you, to love you, until you love yourself. A beautiful life awaits you. Just reach out your hand. #recovery #change, ” Dean wrote on Instagram.
This milestone coincided with another significant event in his life. In a candid Instagram video from his 57th birthday in November 2023, he expressed his joy at being sober and healthy. “Hell ya!! I’m 57 today and loving life!!! SOBER!!!” he wrote. In the video, he can be heard saying, “I’m having an amazing day. I’m sober, I’m healthy, I feel fantastic.”

Dean reflected on a conversation with his sister who shared insightful wisdom about aging. “She said, ‘You know Dean, it’s just a number and everyone gets to be young, but not everyone gets to be old,'” he recalled.
He then emphasized the significance of his sister’s words, adding, “So, wear your experience like a badge of honor.”
As Dean continues his recovery journey, a positive relationship has reportedly also blossomed between his estranged wife, Tori Spelling, and his new girlfriend, Lily Calo.
The “Open Range” actor revealed to Page Six in March 2024 that Tori and Lily “get along fabulously,” a dynamic he feels blessed to have, especially for the sake of their children.

The trio’s harmonious relationship was evident when Tori and Lily were seen giving each other a friendly kiss on the cheek at their son Beau McDermott’s 7th birthday celebration last March.
Dean also praised Lily’s support in maintaining his sobriety and living a respectable life. “I’m blessed, you know, having everybody get along and come together for the greater good of the kids, I just, I’m so blessed. It’s a beautiful thing,” he remarked.
Dean and Lily, a senior account executive, seemed to confirm their relationship in October 2023 when they were photographed holding hands at a welfare office in Los Angeles.
But Dean eventually shared his relationship with Lily for the first time publicly, as we reported on May 17, 2024. He posted two photos on Instagram, showing him and Lily looking cozy, happy, and in love. In one of the photos, Lily is seen kissing the smitten Canadian actor on the cheek.

Another snap showed Dean with his arm wrapped around Lily’s back at an event. The movie star captioned the sweet post, “Sometimes ya just gotta put on your best duds and take your girl to The Magic Castle. Cuz she’s Magic!! 🎩#mylovey.”
Online users couldn’t help but compare Dean’s new girlfriend to Tori, whom he was married to for 17 years. A fan who felt that Lily was better than Tori, wrote, “Upgrade 😍🔥😍🔥.”
“Such an upgrade, she looks like less drama and also more bright. All the love to you two ❤️❤️,” another fan commented on the actor’s choice of a new partner.
More people concurred that Dean had gotten himself a better woman than his ex-wife. “I love the upgrade,” one user wrote. Other commenters focused on how great Lily and Dean looked, saying, “Looking good!!! And what a gorgeous couple you two make!! 🔥.”

As much as many online users were comparing Tori to Dean’s girlfriend, the actress surprised them when she liked this post. “The fact Tori liked this is mind boggling [sic]!” a shocked user commented.
Dean replied to this comment, surprising more users when he praised his ex-wife. The actor wrote that Tori liked his post because “she is a highly evolved and compassionate loving person, which is a lot more then [sic] I can say for the trolls commenting on this post.”

Tori and Dean have both said that their split was a long time coming. The actress filed for divorce on March 29, 2024, with Dean similarly requesting a dissolution of their marriage on May 13, 2024.

Besides seven-year-old Beau, the exes, who both listed irreconcilable differences on their divorce filings, share four more kids: Liam, 17, Stella, 15, Hattie, 12, and 11-year-old Finn. Tori filed for sole custody of their kids but Dean pushed back, filing for joint physical and legal custody.

Tori Spelling also asked the court to award her spousal support and terminate Dean’s ability to receive the same. The actor also filed for spousal support and the termination of the same for Tori.
The actress and Dean were together for nearly two decades but Tori noted that if she and her ex-husband were being honest to each other, their marriage should have ended a lot sooner than it did.
