Courtney Ann Sanford, a 34-year-old woman known as an experienced driver, tragically died in a car accident. While driving, she was listening to the song *Happy* by Pharrell Williams and decided to share her joy on social media.

She took a selfie and posted it with the caption, “This song makes me happy!”

Unfortunately, that brief moment of distraction turned out to be fatal.

Just a minute after posting on Facebook, Courtney’s car crashed into a truck at about 60 km/h. The impact pushed her car into a ditch and then into a tree, causing it to catch fire. Sadly, she was trapped inside and didn’t survive.

When her family was notified, they also discovered her last Facebook post, made just moments before the crash. Law enforcement reported, “The post was made at 8:33 AM. At 8:34 AM, we received the emergency call.”

Courtney’s tragic death is a powerful reminder to never text while driving—no text is worth a life.

When you text while driving, you’re endangering not only yourself but also your passengers, pedestrians, and other drivers. The road requires your complete focus. Keep in mind that driving is a serious responsibility, not just a routine activity.
